HOW CAN I GET A FREE COPY OF MY CREDIT REPORT EVERY MONTH?
This is a question that I am asked a lot in the world of finance and my answer is to suggest that you do one of two things. All Americans are entitled to 1 free copy of their credit report from all 3 credit bureas but only 1 report every 12 months. Well if you do not want to pay during that 12 months to have access to your credit report then I am going to share with you a lesser known way to be able to access your credit report online and for free simply.
If you have been denied credit under the law you are entitled to receive a FREE copy of your credit report from each credit burea. Now I know what you are thinking what if I have not been denied credit? The answer is it does not matter as none of the 3 bureas actually check to see if you have. Instead all you have to go is go to the website of Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion, state that you have been denied credit in the last 60 days, enter in a date, and a company that could be anyone you want to say they denied you credit and BOOM you get your credit report online for free no questions asked. You can do this every month if you like. I know that it can be hard to weed your way through the credit reporting agency sites so I have given you the direct links to the pages used to file for your free credit report for each of the 3 credit reporting agencies.
If you have any additional financial questions then please feel free to ask me.
If you wish to get a copy of your free yearly credit report then please go to www.annualcreditreport.com for more details on how to order it. Another thing to remember is that these links give you your credit report which will allow you to see what is on it, to dispute information that has been reported onto it; however, it does not give you your credit score. I will write another article regarding how to get your credit score aka your FICO score for free but until then enjoy the knowledge of how to get your credit reports at any time for free and again if you have any questions please ask me and I can advise you regarding how to go about disputing information on your report or anything credit related. Thanks and I hope I have helped some people with this article.
