DR. DREW PINSKY IS WRONG IN REGARDS TO THE DEATH OF PRINCE BUT IS REFUSING TO ADMIT IT!

The disdain that I feel for “Doctor” Drew Pinsky is not something that I have ever tried to hide nor will I ever. When the singer Prince died I was appalled that the very night of his death he suggested that Prince died from a lethal combination of Percocet and a benzodiazepine drug such as Xanax, Klonopin, Valium, Ativan, etc. That really bothered me as a person, a journalist, and as a medical professional to broadcast over international television that an individual that as a doctor you know nothing about died from a combination of prescription drugs.

It was bad enough the first night that he engaged in this behavior however, he continued on his show on other HLN and CNN shows to repeat this unfounded theory of death via Percocet in combination with a benzodiazepine drug. Now it has been over a month since the death of Prince and we now have the toxicology results which have been made public showing that Prince died from the medication Fentanyl with no mention of any benzodiazepine drugs in his system or mention of Percocet.

Fentanyl is a powerful drug which is about 50 to 100 times stronger per dose than Morphine. The reports from the medical examiner state that the Fentanyl was self-administered meaning that Prince put this powerful drug into his own body. Fentanyl alone is more than enough to kill a person without the need for any other drug to be involved and as a doctor Drew Pinsky should know this fact. The other big issue is that investigators have not found a prescription for this Fentanyl. As a doctor he should also know that Fentanyl is such a powerful drug that it is reserved for use in surgical operations, severe pain while in a hospital, and in hospice cases.

Dr. Drew Pinsky loves to paint himself as the know it all of drug addiction and the authority on these matters even though he has exploited the addiction of his patients in the show “Celebrity Rehab” which made him millions of dollars and brought him fame while failing to effectively treat his patients. Time and time again I have watched this man sound off with opinions that fly directly into the face of well-established medical science. He is a fraud, an opportunist, and frankly should have his license revoked as well as have as many lawsuits filed against him as possible from the patients he has treated or in some cases their families as these patients are now dead due to his neglect of their medical needs including many from his show “celebrity rehab” who have either went back to using drugs only to die or have committed suicide. There are currently at least 5 from celebrity rehab who are now dead yet he does not wish to talk about his failure of those patients.
