Thousands of people have taken to the streets in major cities all across the United States in “protest” of the election of our new president Donald Trump. While the mainstream news would like for you to believe that these “protests” have been nothing but peaceful that is NOT the case. What we are seeing is lawlessness, anarchy, looting, destruction of property, assaults, rioting and unfortunately now attempted murder after a person was shot and hospitalized in Portland, OR. Police described the shooting suspect as an “African-American male, late teens, 5’8″, thin, wearing black dark hoodie and saggy blue jeans.” Anyone with information about the shooting can call police at 503-823-3333. I just wanted to put that out there.

Back to my take on this. What we are witnessing is the product of extreme liberalism turned communism. I find it disgusting that instead of helping veterans over this veteran’s day weekend these individuals decided to further physically and metaphorically rip America to bits further dividing our country while ignoring our vets who fought and gave so much for us. The media has played a major part in fanning the flames of painting Trump as a racist, a sexist, a homophobe, a xenophobe, and the list goes on and on. I will say that as a gay man I am not worried about Donald Trump in fact I voted for him along with my husband. We are both good people who want a change in this country. I have had enough of these adults who take to the streets acting like a bunch of pissed off toddlers who did not get their way! This is one reason why I do not have many other gay friends because they drink the liberal cool aid believing that Trump hates gay people. I have done my research and I cannot find him saying anything negative about gay people and even if he did what does it matter! We have bigger issues in our country right now than whether someone who I will most likely never meet and have a personal relationship approves of my lifestyle or not!

It is time to grow up and get some thicker skin! It is pathetic that so many people my age (20’s) have to take to the streets behaving this way because they did not get what they wanted or maybe just as awful those in college who are being allowed to take time off from class, being given counseling, and even having “comfort dogs” brought in to help them because they are so traumatized by Donald Trump becoming our new president. Really? How in the world has America gone from a country filled with real tough men and woman into this? My opinion is we have babied so many millennials to the point that they are spoiled and terribly selfish. What are they going to do when they get out of their college “safe zones” and have to enter the real World in which real things happen that you have no control over like not getting a raise, not getting the job you want, or a death in your family, or the end of a relationship. Then what? If you cannot handle seeing Trump 2016 written on the sidewalk of your college campus, then what are you going to do when those issues of life hit you?

This chaos will continue until we start setting down the rule of law again in our country. We cannot allow this lawlessness to continue! This is not who we are as Americans. I refuse to accept that this is now who we are and I hope that everyone reading this feels the same way and will do everything that you can just like I will to try and change this situation while there is still a chance to do so.
